Before 2010 the CBS faculty delivered 27 diploma programmes, 11 MBAs, one doctoral programme and 28 senior management programmes which did not lead to an academic qualification. The diplomas were accredited by Oxford (OUDLE) and Cambridge (UCLES) Universities and by Bradford University at Masters and Doctoral levels. Since 2011, the School accreditation policy has focused on 12-month, part-time diploma programmes accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) which gave the School the flexibility in design and delivery using action learning methods that the new policies of the above Universities ceased to offer.
These diploma programmes are customised to clients in the private and public sectors at all levels and, in particular, to clients in the infrastructure sector (eg water, power, roads, construction etc) and to clients in the manufacturing, health and hospitality sectors. In addition, the diplomas are used in the engineering vocational education triangle (see under vocational education) and can count towards masters qualifications.
